Set a System Restore Point on your computer so that if something goes wrong, virus, etc. you can restore your computer to a point when it was working correctly. You can set a restore point monthly or whenever you want.
Create a Recovery Drive (thumb) to get on your computer if the system restore point doesn’t work.
All of the links are for Window 10 information. If you are not using Window 10, then Google the key words (second user ID, System Restore Point or Recovery Drive) and follow instructions for your system.
When I lost years of work and finally got some of it back, I was very grateful. Little did I know how hard it would be to put back the original published dates, categories, photos, meta tags…
So I think I’m going to have to wait a little longer and be thankful for what I have and just add back a little at a time.
The summer 2016 someone hacked this website and destroyed almost 10 years of work, 4 sub-sites, 100 pages and 500 blog posts. To say “I was sick over this” is an understatement.
Thanks to my brilliant tech guy, Joshua Baker, part or all of it may be restored. He has already restored my personal website, Debra Davis Hinkle. Josh and I have prior commitments so we are unable to finish restoring this site before the Fall of 2017.
We will be changing and adding things for better safeguards in the future. My husband has done some safeguarding at home, too.
