Author, poet, and artist, Debra Davis Hinkle grew up in Manhattan Beach, California, and currently lives in San Luis Obispo with her husband. She loves animals and has five cats (one is feral). She is the god-mother of BinxPittman.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science from California State University, Long Beach, in Business with emphasis in Information Systems. She has taught computer classes, built websites, and was the past Webmaster for SLO NightWriters.
Debra has been writing for seventeen years. She specializes in creative non-fiction and has numerous awards, including the Lillian Dean First Page Contest several times and The SLO NightWriters’ Short Story contest. She won the SLO NightWriters’ Golden Quill award in 2020.
Her short stories have been published in Tales From the Corner, an anthology, published by Central Coast Press. Debra’s poems have been published in the Tribune and Women’s Press.
